Hoof Boss Features

Explore what makes our hoof trimming tool different

Why Hoof Boss?

At 11.5 inches long and weighing just over a pound, the Hoof Boss is designed to fit perfectly in the hand, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. Using chain disc technology, this tool effortlessly glides through any hoof while the abrasive discs smooth and finish off the hoof.

Better Hoof Health

With proven results for a stronger, cleaner, and smoother hoof, the Hoof Boss trims overgrown hooves and resolves abnormal hoof issues. You can precisely control the depth of your cut with the chain discs or use abrasive discs to grind down the hoof for a smooth-to-the-touch finish.

Trim Faster

Once you're comfortable with the tool and trimming techniques, your time spent trimming will significantly decrease. The chain discs take off overgrown material with ease, and regular maintenance trims become much faster. Stick to a regular schedule and getting through your herd will take a fraction of the time.

Minimal Sound

At less than 100 decibels, the Hoof Boss is no louder than a pair of electric shears. Most animals acclimate quickly to the sound and are comfortable around the tool.

Trims It All

Rotating at 11,000 RPMs, the Hoof Boss can cut through the toughest hooves in seconds, yet its precision allows for the removal of hoof slivers as thin as an eggshell. Complete control over how much hoof you remove, with a smooth and neat finish every time.

Ease of Use

The lightweight Hoof Boss reduces the wrist, hand, arm, and back pain traditionally associated with hoof trimming. Especially helpful for those with arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. No upper body strength required — anyone can get a clean trim without overexerting.

Easy to Maintain

The Hoof Boss does NOT require oiling or lubricating. Simply keep it clean and free of debris by lightly blowing out the air vents for proper airflow.

Chain Disc Maintenance

Keep the teeth clean and well sharpened using only the diamond-coated file. We suggest lightly sharpening after every 25 animals. No need to remove the disc from the tool. Replace the chain every 500-1,000 animals depending on use.

Abrasive Disc Maintenance

Keep discs clean with a wire brush and gentle solvent, or lightly burn off material with a blowtorch. You do NOT need to sharpen abrasive discs. Replace after every 100-500 animals or when the grit loses aggressiveness.

Economical

The Hoof Boss can replace your hoof knife, nippers, shears, and files. Use it for almost any trimming task, greatly reducing the need for multiple hand tools while improving your efficiency and saving money.

Paddle Switch

The paddle switch allows instant on and off control for more convenience and safety. The tool locks in the off position if accidentally dropped.

Ergonomic Design

Designed for comfort so you can trim longer with less fatigue. The textured, slip-resistant surface and sleek shape make it easy to grip and maneuver.

Maximized Airflow

A powerful high-capacity fan and extra air vents on the neck and bottom keep the tool cooler so you can trim for longer periods.

Superior Motor

The motor rotates at 11,000 RPMs for a smooth trimming experience. Pulling only one amp of power, it can also be powered by a vehicle's AC/DC converter.

Spiral Bevel Gears

The spiral bevel gear system works harder, operates more quietly, and produces less vibration than any other gearing system — up to 99% more efficient.

Safety

Includes a one-piece cast aluminum safety guard, paddle switch to prevent accidental starting, and full CE compliance. The safety guard protects your hand and fingers during use.
